Bovine serum albumin (also known as BSA or "Fraction V") is a serum albumin protein derived from cows. BSA is often used as a carrier protein for immunization. CellMosaic® has designed this personalized BSA conjugation kit to work with any small molecule containing an amine (-NH2) functional group. The kit provides BSA labeled with epoxide functional groups. Using the kit components, the customer label BSA with the amino compound via nucleophilic attack of the epoxide ring to form a beta amino alcohol. The final product is purified to remove any unreacted small molecule amine. 

This kit provides materials to perform one BSA labeling. Total amount of BSA-epoxide included: 5 mg.


Requirement for Small Molecule

  • Preferably > 90% pure
  • Preferably contains only one amino group (-NH2)
  • Aromatic phenol group will also react with epoxide.
